About Me

Hi, I’m Jen. I’m a licensed attorney with a bachelor of arts in journalism, and a minor in Spanish.  I currently work in labor relations with most of my focus on collective bargaining agreements. The issues I handle are never dull, that’s for sure. I have varied interests, and a big heart. I enjoy giving back to my community and helping those in need. In fact, I would be perfectly happy working in public interest or non-profit for the rest of my earthly life. Whatever may come, I’m excited to see what’s next. In addition to my journalism and law background, I’m also a follower of Jesus Christ. His death and resurrection changed everything for us. He is my hope. I’m working on strengthening my faith, and I look forward to my spiritual journey. In a broad sense, I’m overly sensitive; I’m compassionate beyond what is probably healthy for me; I constantly strive to respect and understand others; and I’m incredibly stubborn.

Aside from school, careers, and faith, I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Dan. He’s my best friend, and my better half. We met in April 2004 just shy of my senior year of high school, and the rest is history. No matter what gets thrown our way we have always been there for each other. He loves me through every stumble, through every falter, through every mistake, through every success, and for that, I am blessed. We vowed our forevers to each other on Feb. 27, 2011. My family means a lot to me. I consider my mom to be my very best friend. She has always been there, and I am so blessed to have such a special relationship like that in my life. I also have a younger brother who is also a huge part of my life. He currently resides in the Bahamas!

Among many other things, I enjoy the beach, traveling, working out, reading, movies, singing, video games, tattoos, and meeting new people. Above all, though, I love to write. Writing is a release for me. It allows me to reflect, to describe, to chronicle, and to reach others. You’ll be able to see my love for writing here! Also, I love to work out. It is the best stress reliever I have found.

I’ve been paying my own bills and controlling my own finances since I was 16. I’m also one of the biggest organizational freaks you will ever meet, and I’m extremely detail-oriented. I’m what you would call a hardcore planner, but I’ve also learned that life never goes as planned.

This blog has  followed my life since July 2009. It has focused on huge events such as my engagement, wedding, and my adventure in and through law school. Generally speaking, this blog echos my goals and aspirations, my everyday experiences, feelings and general love of people and life. I hope I can inspire you, warm your heart and surprise you.

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the blog-o-sphere. I hope you’ll stay awhile…
